Abstract
This study investigates the formation, expansion, and persistence of relay road races in modern Korean sports history by examining the interaction between social structure and individual agency. To achieve this purpose, the research employed a multi-layered methodology: analyzing newspaper coverage and literature from the 1920s to the 1960s to identify structural conditions; interpreting oral history interviews with the athlete Yang Jae-seong to uncover lived experiences and forms of agency; and conducting cross-analysis to illuminate how structure and action mutually shaped relay road race culture. The findings reveal that relay road races developed within the structural conditions of colonial institutional transfer, post-liberation reconstruction, wartime disruption, media sponsorship, school-centered elite networks, military participation, nationalist discourses, and expanding urban infrastructures. Conversely, Yang Jae-seong, marginalized from elite school networks, cultivated his athletic capacity through self-directed “multi-environment training” across various urban terrains, entered informal elite networks through mentorship from Olympic athlete Shim Bok-seok, and later catalyzed structural change by founding a one-person track team in the Navy and competing as a military athlete. These results show that relay road races were not merely media events but socio-cultural arenas produced through the reciprocal configuration of structural constraints and individual practices. This study contributes to Korean sports historiography by proposing a relational framework that moves beyond hero-centered and institution-centered narratives toward an integrated understanding of structure and agency.

Abstract
This study investigated the relationship between take-off posture and kinematic variables in the high jump and compared them with world-class athletes. Thirty-eight successful trials from eight female athletes were analyzed using three-dimensional motion analysis, with the take-off phase divided into touchdown (TD), maximum knee flexion (MKF), and takeoff (TO). At TD, the shoulder-foot backward lean (angle2: 25° ± 3°) was strongly correlated with the center of mass lean (angle3, r = .93), hip-foot lean (angle6, r = .84), and vertical velocity at TO (r = .72). The foot plant angle (angle4: 15° ± 8°) correlated with at TO vertical velocities, while the knee angle (angle5) was associated with hip angle (angle1, r = .75). Smaller knee flexion changes resulted in shorter support times, and one athlete (S7) with greater backward lean achieved the highest vertical velocity (3.50 m/s).
The backward lean posture and the foot plant angle were confirmed as key determinants of vertical velocity and efficiency. Compared with world-class athletes, domestic athletes showed smaller angles and lower vertical velocity, indicating technical differences in the take-off phase.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore the overview and detailed progression of the women Ssireum (Korean wrestling) competition held in the Namsan of Seoul in 1950, as well as the ban policy issued by the Seoul Metropolitan Police and the background that continued even after the Korean War. At that time, 11 newspaper articles and 23 advertisements reporting on the women Ssireum tournament were collected, and content analysis and literature review were conducted. The conclusions of this study were as follows: First, The 1950 women Ssireum tournament at Namsan in Seoul was organized by a civilian group under the slogans ‘Free and Equal Republic of Korea’ and ‘National Health and Sound Spirit.’ Second, The Namsan was densely populated with unlicensed female adult entertainment workers, and people of the time, who held conservative views on women’s participation in society, regarded the women Ssireum tournament at Namsan negatively. On May 23, 1950, the Seoul Metropolitan Police issued a ban policy. Thrid, The Namsan women Ssireum tournament had been revealed to hold significance in fulfilling women’s aspirations for social participation amid a turbulent society, and it is a newly discovered fact that a gold ring was awarded as the winner prize. However, the ban policy issued by the Seoul Metropolitan Police was regarded as an incident that frustrated women’s sport activities.

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the effects of virtual reality (VR) device usage on balance ability using a three-dimensional motion analysis system and force plates. Twenty healthy male adults (height: 172.5 ± 5 cm, weight: 73.2 ± 8.3 kg, age: 28.1 ± 2.4 years) participated in the experiment, performing two types of standing tasks―Normal Standing (NS) and Romberg Standing (RS)―under three visual tasks: eyes open (OE), eyes closed (CE), and VR device use (VR). Whole Body Center of Mass (WCoM) and Center of Pressure (CoP) were measured. Postural stability was analyzed by calculating the total travel distance, range of motion, and mean velocity of WCoM and CoP during a 15-second data acquisition period for each task. A two-way repeated measures ANOVA with Bonferroni post-hoc tests was used for statistical analysis. VR use significantly increased WCoM total travel distance and mean velocity as well as CoP total travel distance and mean velocity compared to the OE task (p<.05). Although the CoP-WCoM angle range significantly increased only under the CE task, no significant changes were observed under the VR task. These findings suggest that VR device use can impair balance ability by altering visual sensory input, increasing postural instability and the risk of falls. These results highlight the need to develop safety guidelines and fall prevention strategies for immersive VR environments.

Abstract
This study aimed to explore the structural limitations and challenges of disability sport facilities based on the principles of Universal Design (UD) and to seek future directions for inclusive and sustainable facility planning and management. To this end, focus group interviews were conducted with facility managers, users, and expert groups, and the collected data were analyzed in depth. The findings revealed three structural issues: provider-centered governance, rigidity in facility operation, and a single-function facility orientation. Specifically, provider-centered governance, in relation to UD Principle 1(Equitable Use), led to dichotomous management centered on non-disabled stakeholders and the marginalization of people with disabilities. The rigidity of facility operation, associated with UD Principle 2(Flexibility in Use), failed to provide appropriate alternatives to emerging problems, thereby restricting the rights and participation of people with disabilities. Finally, the single-function facility orientation, in relation to UD Principle 6(Low Physical Effort) and Principle 7(Size and Space for Approach and Use), limited opportunities for diverse sporting experiences and social engagement. This study emphasizes that overcoming these challenges requires the establishment of user participation-based governance and control tower, as well as a transformation toward multi-functional, community-based facilities. Ultimately, this shift highlights the need to move beyond design guidelines toward a rights-based paradigm of inclusion in disability sport spaces.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate a RAG based recommendation system specialized for sports tourism, focusing on walking, running, and hiking. Although the demand for sports tourism has surged in recent years, existing tourism information systems have limitations in providing contextual and personalized recommendations. To address this issue, the proposed system integrates a Large Language Model (LLM) with external knowledge bases, including public course data, weather forecasts, and visitor congestion predictions, to generate personalized recommendations. The collected data were vectorized and stored using FAISS, while user queries were analyzed and augmented with dynamic contextual information to provide real-time recommendations. System evaluation demonstrated the potential of mitigating information fragmentation and enabling context-aware recommendations through precision@k and recall@k metrics. However, despite extensive data collection and refinement based on the Korea Tourism Organization API, structural limitations such as regional and temporal inconsistencies and irregular updates constrained performance improvement. Future work should expand data sources, strengthen standardization, and enhance quality management to overcome these limitations. This study empirically demonstrates the feasibility of implementing an intelligent recommendation system tailored to the sports tourism domain, and suggests that future research should incorporate user satisfaction assessments and extend the system to a wider range of sports tourism activities.

Abstract
This study aimed to identify the demographic characteristics of golf consumers and to investigate the causal relationship between brand benefits for each cluster and brand trust and continued use intention. To achieve this, a survey was conducted among domestic golf consumers who had played golf within the past year. A total of 340 respondents were used in the final study. The 340 survey responses analyzed the impact of brand benefits on brand trust and continued use intention according to golf consumer involvement level. The following results were obtained. First, in the high-involvement group, overall brand benefits influenced brand trust, while functional benefits did not influence continued use intention. Second, in the low-involvement group, all dimensions of brand benefits influenced brand trust, while functional benefits did not influence continued use intention. These results suggest that both groups consider functional characteristics of a brand to have high basic expectations, and continued use intention is influenced by brand identity, such as symbolic and experiential benefits, and emotional satisfaction.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the Relationship between growth mindset and resilience among Taekwondo major university students and to verify the mediating role of self-management in this relationship. A total of 267 Taekwondo majors participated in the survey, and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and R 4.5.0 through simple and multiple regression analysis and mediation tests. The results showed that growth mindset had a positive effect on both resilience and self-management, and that self-management was also an important factor in enhancing resilience. Among the sub-factors of self-management, training management, mental management, and interpersonal management demonstrated mediating effects between growth mindset and resilience, with interpersonal management emerging as the most influential factor. In contrast, body management did not show a significant mediating effect. These findings suggest that in order to strengthen the resilience of Taekwondo major students, educational approaches should focus on fostering growth mindset and self-management, particularly interpersonal competencies.

Abstract
This study purpose was to validate the short version of the Multidimensional Assessment of Teamwork in Sport (MATS-Short) in the context of the Korean team sports setting. Additionally, it seeks to examine the reliability and validity of MATS-Short scale and to analyze how teamwork is related to athletes’ peer motivational climate. Based on the cross-section design, a survey was conducted with 462 high school and university soccer players. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS statistical software, including descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The MATS-Short was confirmed to be a reliable and valid assessment scale. The factors of the scale demonstrated reliability and validity, showing a positive correlation and significant impact on a task-involving motivational climate, while showing a negative correlation and adverse effects on an ego-involving motivational climate. The MATS-Short is a valid scale within the Korean sports setting and can effectively measure the relationship between athletes’ teamwork and peer motivational climate. This study emphasizes the importance of teamwork and offers valuable insights for sports psychology and team management strategies.
